Default integrates with Icypeas for email verification. Icypeas checks whether an email address you already have is valid and deliverable. It does not find or guess new email addresses. Default manages access to Icypeas and bills each check in credits, so you don’t need an Icypeas account or API key.

Icypeas in Default at a glance

Where Icypeas shows up in Default

  • Waterfall email validation: In a waterfall’s Validation section, turn on Email validation and choose Icypeas. The other choice, and the default, is Abstract Email Reputation. The check runs on the person’s email when the waterfall runs in an Enrich Data node, and during form pre-enrichment when it is your primary waterfall. See Waterfalls.
  • Enrich Data node: Pick Icypeas under Providers in the node’s Enrichment source field, with Enrichment target set to Person. See Enrichment nodes.
  • Chrome extension: A rep can pick Icypeas under Request enrichment. See Chrome extension.
  • Tables: Verify an email column with Icypeas, where Tables is enabled for your workspace.
You cannot add Icypeas under Enrichment order in a waterfall, because it does not return new contact data.

Fields Icypeas returns

Use the status and certainty to hold back risky addresses before a sequence or a CRM write. For example, branch after the Enrich Data node so only emails with a FOUND status continue.

Icypeas or Abstract Email Reputation

Both run as the waterfall Email validation check. Pick by what you need: See Abstract for the full Abstract field list.
