Default integrates with Clearbit in 2 ways. Clearbit fills in person and company details on your records, and Clearbit Reveal identifies the company behind an anonymous website visit. Default manages access to both, so you don’t need a Clearbit account or API key.

Clearbit in Default at a glance

Clearbit enrichment in Default

Clearbit enriches a person by email address and a company by domain. You can use it in these places:
  • Waterfalls: Clearbit is 1 of the 4 providers you can add under Enrichment order in a waterfall, next to Apollo, People Data Labs, and Wiza. See Waterfalls.
  • Enrich Data node: Pick Clearbit under Providers in the node’s Enrichment source field, or pick a waterfall that includes it. See Enrichment nodes.
  • Chrome extension: A rep can pick Clearbit, or a waterfall, under Request enrichment. See Chrome extension.
  • Tables: Enrich person and company columns with Clearbit, where Tables is enabled for your workspace.
Default skips Clearbit company lookups for free and disposable email domains, such as a Gmail address, and does not charge for them.

Fields Clearbit returns

Clearbit returns more than 100 fields. The main groups: To see the exact fields for your waterfall, select View in the Verify provider fields alert when you create or edit a waterfall.

Clearbit Reveal in Default

Clearbit Reveal looks up the visitor’s IP address when a page with Reveal turned on loads, and returns the company that owns the network. A match starts any published workflow with the Account Signal trigger. See Visitor De-anonymization.
  • Clearbit Reveal only returns a company when the IP address belongs to a business. Visits from home networks, mobile data, internet service providers, and schools return no company.
  • If Demandbase is also on, Default asks both providers at once. When both return a company, Default uses Clearbit Reveal’s result. See Demandbase.
  • Only visitors who grant analytics consent are looked up. See Consent Gating.

Fields Clearbit Reveal returns

The Account Signal trigger passes these fields to later workflow steps, along with the IP address and page URL of the visit.
