# Clearbit enrichment and Clearbit Reveal in Default

> How Default uses Clearbit for person and company enrichment and Clearbit Reveal for real-time company identification of website visitors, who supplies the data, the credits each lookup uses, and how to turn them on.

Default integrates with Clearbit in 2 ways. **Clearbit** fills in person and company details on your
records, and **Clearbit Reveal** identifies the company behind an anonymous website visit. Default
manages access to both, so you don't need a Clearbit account or API key.

## Clearbit enrichment in Default

**Clearbit** enriches a person by email address and a company by domain. You can use it in these
places:

* Waterfalls: Clearbit is 1 of the 4 providers you can add under **Enrichment order** in a
  waterfall, next to Apollo, People Data Labs, and Wiza. See [Waterfalls](/settings/configurations/waterfalls).
* **Enrich Data** node: Pick **Clearbit** under **Providers** in the node's **Enrichment source**
  field, or pick a waterfall that includes it. See [Enrichment nodes](/workflows/steps-enrichment).
* Chrome extension: A rep can pick Clearbit, or a waterfall, under **Request enrichment**. See
  [Chrome extension](/chrome-extension).
* Tables: Enrich person and company columns with Clearbit, where Tables is enabled for your
  workspace.

Default skips Clearbit company lookups for free and disposable email domains, such as a Gmail
address, and does not charge for them.

## Fields Clearbit returns

Clearbit returns more than 100 fields. The main groups:

| Record | Fields |
| - | - |
| Person | Name, email, title, seniority, job role and sub-role, company name and domain, phone number, bio, photo, location (street, city, state, postal code, country, time zone), and LinkedIn, Twitter, GitHub, Gravatar, and personal site profiles. |
| Company | Name, legal name, domain and domain aliases, description, industry, sector and industry group, tags, employee count and range, annual revenue and inferred revenue, total funding raised, market cap, founded year, company type, technologies and technology categories, SIC and NAICS codes, phone numbers and email addresses listed on the site, location, and social profiles. |

To see the exact fields for your waterfall, select **View** in the **Verify provider fields**
alert when you create or edit a waterfall.

## Clearbit Reveal in Default

**Clearbit Reveal** looks up the visitor's IP address when a page with **Reveal** turned on loads,
and returns the company that owns the network. A match starts any published workflow with the
**Account Signal** trigger. See [Visitor De-anonymization](/forms/reveal).

* Clearbit Reveal only returns a company when the IP address belongs to a business. Visits from
  home networks, mobile data, internet service providers, and schools return no company.
* If **Demandbase** is also on, Default asks both providers at once. When both return a company,
  Default uses Clearbit Reveal's result. See [Demandbase](/settings/integrations/demandbase).
* Only visitors who grant analytics consent are looked up. See
  [Consent Gating](/forms/privacy#consent-gating).

## Fields Clearbit Reveal returns

| Group | Fields |
| - | - |
| Company | Domain, name, tags, employee count and range, total funding raised, and Alexa global and US rank. |
| Visitor location | City, region, region code, country, and country code of the visitor's IP address. These describe where the visitor is, which can differ from the company's headquarters. |

The **Account Signal** trigger passes these fields to later workflow steps, along with the IP
address and page URL of the visit.

## Turn on Clearbit or Clearbit Reveal

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Integrations">
    Select **Settings** in the sidebar, then **Integrations** under **Workspace Settings**. Admin
    access is required.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the provider">
    Select **Clearbit** in the **Enrichment** category, or **Clearbit Reveal** in the
    **Website Intent** category.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn it on">
    Turn on the switch next to the provider's name. If the switch is unavailable, contact Default to
    turn the provider on for your workspace.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Put it to work">
    For **Clearbit**, add it to a [waterfall](/settings/configurations/waterfalls) or pick it in an
    **Enrich Data** node. For **Clearbit Reveal**, turn on **Reveal** for the pages you care about in
    **Signals**, then build a workflow with the **Account Signal** trigger. See
    [Visitor De-anonymization](/forms/reveal).

    Clearbit now enriches the records that run through that waterfall or node. Clearbit Reveal
    identifies companies on the pages you chose and starts your published **Account Signal**
    workflows.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Turn off Clearbit or Clearbit Reveal

* Clearbit Reveal: turn the switch off and Reveal stops calling Clearbit Reveal from the next
  visit. Those visits use no Clearbit Reveal credits.
* Clearbit: turn the switch off and Clearbit no longer appears in the provider lists of the
  waterfall editor, the **Enrich Data** node, and the Chrome extension. Also remove Clearbit from any
  waterfall or **Enrich Data** node that already uses it.
