# Slack integration for Default

> How to connect Slack to Default so members get Default notifications in Slack and workflows can post messages and create channels.

The Slack integration for Default sends Default notifications to your Slack workspace. An admin
connects Slack once for the whole workspace.

Members then turn on the Slack notification channel for themselves.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Select **Settings** in the sidebar, then **Connections** under **Workspace Settings**, and open
> **Slack**. Admin access is required to connect Slack.

## Connect Slack

**1. Open the Slack card**

Select the Slack card on the Connections page.

**2. Authorize the connection**

Select **Connect** and approve the Slack sign-in popup for your workspace.

## What you can do

Once Slack is connected at the workspace level, members can turn on the **Slack** channel in their
[Notifications](https://docs.os.default.com/settings/notifications.md) settings. There, each member chooses which notification types
Default sends to Slack.

Workflows can also use Slack through the **Send Slack Message**, **Create Slack Channel**, and
**Add Member to Slack Channel** nodes. See [Notification nodes](https://docs.os.default.com/workflows/steps-notifications.md).

Map each Default user to their Slack User ID in [Users](https://docs.os.default.com/settings/users.md).

## Manage or disconnect

Once connected, the card shows a check mark. Select the card, then **Disconnect** on the detail page to remove it.
